The Batman
The Batman made in 2022 was a movie that truly surprised me because of who was playing Batman himself I thought it wouldn't be as good as it was. I thought that the actor choice was off compared to who had been chosen in the past, but Robert Pattinson portrayed the character in a great way which matched the way that he has been written for years. The character us always described as "darkness" and with the overall lighting of the movie and everyplace that he went to it matched the feel of the character. There is a clear warm color pallet along with dark blacks in almost any place he is in his suit.
During the beginning of the movie it cuts to different people committing various crimes throughout the city, then it cuts to a shot bellow them looking up at the sky where they see the symbol in the sky. Then every one of them looks into a dark place near them and you can tell the fear that comes over their characters. It is as if that is the single most terrifying thing that could happen to them in that moment. When it cuts to the clip of a gang of people going to beat on an innocent man there was one who was being initiated and he was the only one to see the symbol. When they heard boots coming down the dark hall you can tell the one being initiated was terrified but no one else knew who it was. The camera angle that was on Batman has he walks into the scene was slightly lower than him showing the power he has even in a one versus ten. The film showed how much fear he could instill in people just from too much darkness in an area, keeping that theme throughout the movie made him fearful.
